About

Data consulting that starts with the business.

Most data problems are really business problems: unclear goals, metrics no one agrees on, and teams that don't trust what they're seeing. Reverb Analytics helps small and growing businesses fix those problems, because we've lived them from the front line and from the data team.

Why "Reverb"

Data behaves like sound. It starts on the front lines, in every sale, support ticket, shipment and click. It travels up to leadership, who analyze it and act on it to improve the customer experience and the profitability of the business. Those improvements create new interactions and new data, which comes back to be analyzed again.

That echo is the reverb. In a healthy company it builds into a clear, reinforcing signal. In most companies it gets lost in noise: broken pipelines, conflicting metrics, reports no one trusts. Our job is to tune the loop so every pass is clearer than the last.

Where our experience comes from

We started on the front lines. Before writing a line of SQL, we spent five years in sales, as account executives closing new business and as account managers driving expansion. We know the CRM from the inside: the fields that get skipped, the pipeline stages that mean different things to different reps, and the frustration of a report that doesn't match what you're hearing from customers. That's where the data starts.

Then we crossed over to data. We taught ourselves SQL, moved into business intelligence, and spent years building reporting and leading data teams across BI, data engineering and governance.

We care most about the layer in between. Much of our work has centered on the semantic and documentation layer: the shared metric definitions, data models, data dictionaries and lineage that sit between raw data and every dashboard. It's the least glamorous part of a data stack, and it decides whether anyone trusts the numbers.

Why it matters to you. Because we've sat in your stakeholders' seats, our discovery conversations get to the real problem faster. We can turn "I need to know which accounts are at risk" into the exact data, definitions and dashboards that answer it, and explain the result back in plain language.

What we believe

  • Strategy before tooling. A new platform won't fix an unclear question.
  • Trust is the product. If leaders don't believe the numbers, nothing downstream matters.
  • Write it down. A metric that only lives in someone's head isn't a metric.
  • Build only what you'll maintain. AI makes building easy; owning what you build is the hard part.
  • Fixed scope, fixed fee. You should know what you're buying before you buy it.
  • Leave the team stronger. Every engagement ends with documentation and a handoff, not a dependency on us.

Who we work with

We typically work with small and growing businesses of roughly 10 to 250 people. They usually have a CRM, a finance system and a handful of SaaS tools, spreadsheets doing more work than they should, and either one data person or none at all. Their leadership is ready to make data a real advantage.
